Romania

TC69AF6: Aggregate of twinned Chalcopyrite crystals with the dominant forms of a disphenoid. They are very well defined and bright and have cubic Pyrite crystals on the back; small Galena crystals are associated. The chalcopyrite crystals are partially coated by groups of lenticular Calcite crystals. A classic piece from Cavnic, where good Chalcopyrite specimens are very scarce.

EL96Y9: Coralloid growths of Rhodochrosite microcrystals, very aerial and with a very good pink color. They are on matrix, with crystals of Quartz, Sphalerite and Pyrite.

EE87Y9: Coralloid growths of Rhodochrosite microcrystals, very aerial and with a very good pink color. They are on matrix, with crystals of Quartz, Sphalerite and Pyrite.

ME13AE3: Spheroidal aggregates of white rhombohedral Calcite crystals on a matrix of Quartz crystals partially coated by tabular Dolomite crystals with a very pale cream color.

Specimen size: 10.5 × 8 × 5.9 cm = 4.1” × 3.1” × 2.3”

Main crystal size: 1.5 × 1.3 cm = 0.6” × 0.5”

SG38AF0: Botryoidal Siderite traditionally well known as sphaerosiderite, on a rocky matrix with bluish and very bright, laminar Baryte crystals.
The sample is from the Francesco S. Stoppani collection (catalog number 0635), whose label we’ll send to the buyer. As is the case with so many specimens in this collection, the sample is of great quality for the locality.

EA47Y9: Aggregate of platy Baryte crystals with a sharp and very well defined shape. They are very transparent, extraordinarily bright and are on matrix.

NR90AE7: Radial aggregates of acicular Semseyite crystals that are very bright and have grown on a druse of very bright cubo-octahedral Galena crystals, also very bright, with curved edges, all on a rocky matrix coated by lenticular Calcite crystals on the back.

TY46AC5: Aggregate of Galena crystals with very evenly balanced cube and octahedron forms. They are on a Sphalerite matrix, with Semseyite and Chalcopyrite.

TZ47X1: Cubo-octahedral crystals of Galena, bright and well defined, with radial growths of sharp platy crystals of Semseyite. Some of the faces of the Galena show very well marked skeletal growths.

MC64Y7: Floater group of uniaxial Calcite growths of very flattened rombohedrons that show very distinct color zoning, one with whitish tones, the other grayish black due to Boulangerite inclusions.

ST96AE3: Two generations of Siderite crystals on matrix. The first forms a tapestry of small thick-tabular crystals with very well defined forms and the second is with larger polycrystalline aggregates with very curved faces.

EJ27AC5: Aggregate of very bright Stibnite crystals on a Calcite matrix, with very well defined faces and edges and showing the characteristic habit of the crystals of Stibnite from this mine, very short, flattened and with excellent terminations. They are on a Calcite matrix, with Baryte.

MC69R3: Group of thick short prismatic crystals of Stibnite, with excellent terminations, typical of the Poiana Botizei mine, a locality that in its best times offered not too many samples but commonly of good quality.

Specimen size: 13.2 × 10.5 × 7.4 cm = 5.2” × 4.1” × 2.9”

Main crystal size: 2.5 × 1.7 cm = 1.0” × 0.7”

MC56Z9: Very sharp and bright cubo-octahedral Galena crystals on a matrix of small Pyrite crystals, with white Calcite. The Pyrite aggregate has a curious hood-like shape that probably corresponds to the surface of an old lost scalenohedral Calcite crystal.

Specimen size: 5.8 × 5.8 × 3.7 cm = 2.3” × 2.3” × 1.5”

Main crystal size: 0.7 × 0.7 cm = 0.3” × 0.3”

TR89AF6: Druse of very well defined rhombohedral Siderite crystals which are cast pseudomorphs after Calcite. During the process of the substitution, wall-like external shells were left behind. The siderite casts are on matrix, with small Pyrite crystals.
The sample is from the Vallecillo collection, Madrid.
